Nettle tea: A ace in the hole against acne

For a long period, people who had acne had to tolerate it while they went through puberty. But those times are generally over. You’ve undoubtedly seen promotions on TV for miracle acne cures and pharmacies contain more forms of acne creams, ointments, gels and face washes than Baskin and Robbins has ice cream flavours.

Many acne treatments depend on chemicals which are generally drying and traumatic to the skin. What if you wish to avoid this? What if you want a natural treatment and can’t use chemical based acne remedies? Such as, during pregnancy, the use of salicylic acid (a principal ingredient in the fight against acne) is to be avoided. Now what?

Clearing your acne with nettle tea

Over the years we seem to have forgotten that Nature has a few tricks that can be a lot better than the chemical alternatives. And Nature has a trick for acne. Acne along with other skin problems are treatable with nettle tea, something which has been proven repeatedly.

Nettle tea has great detox properties since it is an anti-inflammatory and will cleanse the kidneys and clean your blood, two vital secrets to clearing up your acne. What you eat and drink is directly related to your overall health including how good the skin looks. I am sure you already know someone who eats loads of food that is full of oils and sugars – check out their skin!

Nettle tea is available at the health food store or you can actually make at home. Drinking nettle tea 4 times daily (that’s four cups) is the recommended amount for clearing acne quickly. Other skin complaints like eczema also will improve by drinking nettle tea.

Remember though, while nettle tea is natural, there are people who respond to it differently so don’t forget to take your time and work your way up to four cups a day.
